Delete Your Account

The fastest and most reliable way to delete Halo data is from the app. Account deletion is irreversible. Subscription cancellation is a separate store action.

1. Delete your account in Halo

1. Open Halo on your iPhone or Android device.
2. Open the Profile tab.
3. Open Settings.
4. Scroll down and choose Delete Account.
5. Read the confirmation and confirm deletion.

Halo then removes your account and associated content from its active systems. The action cannot be undone, and there is no recovery period.

2. What deletion removes

Deletion removes the active Halo account and data associated with it, including:

• Profile and authentication records controlled by Halo.
• Journal sessions, transcripts, summaries, moods, and conversation history.
• Structured memory, themes, links, and other generated journal data.
• Active product-state records tied to the account.

Halo does not keep raw voice audio in its own database.

3. What may remain

Some records may not disappear at the same time as the active Halo account:

• Store and accounting records: Apple, Google, Adapty, or Lahoika OÜ may retain transaction, tax, and accounting records where law requires it, including for up to seven years under applicable Estonian accounting rules.
• Processor analytics and diagnostics: Mixpanel, Firebase/GA4, Meta, Sentry, and infrastructure providers may keep limited event, security, or diagnostic data according to their configured retention cycles and lawful obligations.
• Backups: encrypted backups expire through the relevant provider’s normal backup-rotation cycle. Deleted data is not restored to active use except where needed for disaster recovery.
• De-identified statistics: information that can no longer reasonably identify you may remain.

You may ask us to coordinate an additional provider-level deletion where applicable and technically possible.

4. Cancel a subscription separately

Deleting your Halo account does not cancel a subscription. Apple and Google control store subscriptions.

• iPhone or iPad: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Halo → Cancel Subscription.
• Android: Google Play → profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Halo → Cancel subscription.

If the store does not show a cancel option, check whether the subscription is already canceled or tied to another store account.

5. If you cannot access the app

Email hello@speaktohalo.com with the subject Delete my Halo account. Use the email linked to Halo if possible and include enough information for us to verify the account without sending journal content.

Halo can create an unlinked temporary account automatically. If that account has no verified email or sign-in provider and you no longer have the device or account identifier, we may be unable to identify it safely. In-app deletion is therefore the best method for a temporary account.

6. Timing and your rights

In-app deletion removes the active Halo account as part of the confirmed request. A separate privacy request may require identity verification and processor coordination. We aim to answer within one month. A lawful extension of up to two additional months may apply to a complex request; if so, we will tell you.
