This page explains how to delete your Halo account and the data associated with it. Halo is operated by Lahoika OÜ (Estonia, registry code 17475517).

1. Delete your account from the app

The fastest way is from inside the Halo app on your device:

1. Open Halo on your iPhone or Android device.
2. Tap the Profile tab (bottom-right of the navigation bar).
3. Tap Settings.
4. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
5. Confirm the action in the dialog. Your account and data are removed immediately.

If you cannot access the app (for example, you no longer have the device), email us from the address you used to register and we will delete your account on your behalf within 7 calendar days:

3. What is deleted

When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed from our active systems:

• Your account credentials (email, password hash, Apple/Google sign-in linkage)
• Your profile (name, language preference, premium status)
• All journal sessions, transcripts, and AI-generated summaries
• All mood entries, streak data, and usage statistics
• All structured memory (life spheres, elements, mentions, wings, rooms)
• All conversation history and chat messages
• All in-app analytics linked to your user ID

4. What may be retained, and for how long

A small amount of data may be retained for legal, security, or operational reasons:

• Purchase and billing records: Retained for up to 7 years in line with Estonian tax and accounting law (Raamatupidamise seadus § 12). These records are kept by our payments provider (Adapty) and the app stores (Apple, Google) and do not include the content of your sessions.
• Backups: Encrypted database backups are rotated within 30 days. Your data is purged from active systems immediately and from backups within 30 days.
• Anonymous aggregated analytics: Statistical data that cannot be linked back to you (for example, "total sessions per day across all users") may be retained indefinitely.
• Crash and diagnostic logs: Logs in Sentry and Firebase Crashlytics are retained for up to 90 days and may contain device identifiers but no session content.

5. Cancel your subscription separately

Deleting your Halo account does not automatically cancel an active subscription if you bought it through the App Store or Google Play, because the subscription is managed by the store, not by us. To cancel:

• iOS: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Halo → Cancel.
• Android: Google Play Store → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Halo → Cancel.

6. Your rights under GDPR

If you are in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with comparable data protection law, you have the right to request access to, correction of, or erasure of your personal data. See our Privacy Policy for the full list of rights and how to exercise them. The deletion steps on this page satisfy your right to erasure ("right to be forgotten") under GDPR Article 17.
